i love your company.
Our trip was amazing just because I have never thought to be part of Nomads life. spending everyday in a different way with everyone was incredible. The land, the nature, sleeping in the Mongolian yurt and go peeing outside during the night was very special!!! I keep with me all the beautiful smiles for my art work and my heart. next time make sure that the people brings a jacket for the evening (it was cold); thank you so much.
Overall a wonderful adventure with lots of new experiences. Suggestions: - Provide itinerary in welcome pack or in advance - the trip differed from previous trip and French riders received new itinerary but English speaking did not. - Briefing each morning from tour leader before ride starts to explain route and show on a map as well as explain degree of difficulty
All good the people who looked after us on trip made it .
Great
Mongolia was even better than expected! The freedom of riding for miles & miles off road with no fences & nothing man made except for Ger camps was truly amazing and the scenery was stunning! We loved seeing the huge number of animals roaming free - horses, yaks, sheep, goats, cattle, camels plus a variety of bird life & ground dwellers such as marmots, ground squirrels and we even saw (and photographed) the very rare Pallas’ wild cat! The accomodation in Gers every night really added to the experience & the quality & comfort of the Gers was way better than expected. The food was also way above expectations. We thought we were going to lose a few kilos on this trip - not a chance! The Himalayan’s were the absolute perfect bike for this trip & even 2 up, my wife & I both found the bike extremely comfortable. We are in our 60’s (and reasonably fit) but didn’t find the trip too demanding at all. In fact, we found it energised us & we looked forward to jumping back on the bike every day and exploring ridges & gorges when we stopped. The rest days provided a great balance of riding & relaxing (and catching up on a bit of washing, fiddling with camera equipment, etc). Lastly, the crew. Could not have wished for a better bunch of guys! From our tour leader Tuk, to drivers Dooyoo & Uuree & mechanic Tony, they all had a great sense of humour & couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommend this tour to anyone with a sense of adventure and a love of motorcycles!
It was an adventure with most things covered. Potential pitfalls were reduced. Knowledge of the journey could be improved with feedback from prior tours.
generally a good trip and experience, and I was pleased with Vintage Rides. However, the i Have the following comments: The guide rode too slowly (sometimes dangerously slowly) we did not cover enough distance and could have ridden for at least 1 hour per day more, sometimes 2 hrs per day more. Staff were great, accomodations were great, the group was nice, but at 10 riders was the maximum it should be - 8 would be better. The way i had to pay cost me a lot in bank charges that were unneccesary. you should alter these payment options for uk customers. my final night in UB was disrupted by hotel staff!
It was a great trip. The support team were excellent. the group was great fun. the country amazing. my one proper criticism is (a) we could have ridden further - 3pm finishes on two days! and (b) we could have ridden harder - I was in my comfort zone for 98% of the time (and we were only guided out of my comfort zone once). I appreciate there are riders with different levels of confidence and appetite but I think that could be accommodated.
