When to travel to Tanzania? If you want to take a motorcycle tour in Tanzania, it is best to visit during the dry season, which spans over two periods: December to March and June to October. The temperature varies from one region to another but is pleasant in the area we ride through during our motorcycle tour, with a balmy maximum temperature of 30 degrees. During the rest of the year, the rainy season is countrywide. On the coast and in Zanzibar, the topical climate is hot and humid all year round and temperatures rise between December and March. April and May are the
wettest months in this part of Tanzania. Inland, where the altitude plays its part, the temperature is a lot cooler, causing the landscape to be a lot greener too.
Tanzania is in East Africa. The country borders with Kenya and Uganda to the north, Rwanda to the north-west and Mozambique to the south. The Great Rift Valley – a series of faults and volcanoes that stretches across East Africa – runs through Tanzania. It is home to Africa’s highest peak: Mount Kilimanjaro at 5,892 m altitude, as well as Mount Meru and Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai, an active volcano that you’ll explore during your motorcycle tour in Tanzania. Most of the country’s surface is made up of steppes and savannahs. There are also many forests, particularly tropical forests,
where thousands of plant species thrive, many of which are endemic. When it comes to spotting wildlife, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park are unforgettable stops on our motorcycle tour in Tanzania, as they are some of the best-preserved habitats in Africa. You will get the chance to spot zebras, giraffes, lions, elephants and other animals in their natural habitat.
Along Zanzibar’s coast, Tanzania’s idyllic archipelago in the middle of the Indian Ocean, you can spot colourful fish and coral formations. The region is also known for its sea turtles and dolphins.
