When to take a Motorbike Tour in France

There are four distinct seasons in France. The best season for a motorcycle trip in France is between April and October, when the temperatures are mild enough for one to thoroughly enjoy a leisurely motorcycle ride. The climate may vary depending on the regions and the altitude. It is best to avoid winter months between December and March when the temperatures are low almost all over the territory. Even in winter there are a few beautiful sunny days in the south of France and Corsica, but summer is really the ideal time for travelling in France.  To avoid the peak tourist season, we suggest that you plan your motorcycle tour in France in the months of June or September. Spring and autumn are our favourite seasons for touring in France, visiting the blooming countryside and admiring the changing colours. During this period, discover Auvergne, its green and preserved landscapes, its pastureland and pristine untouched valleys echo the incredible beauty of Mongolia. If your trip is in autumn, be aware that the days are short and the temperatures fall rapidly in the evenings, even in the south of France. Whatever be the season, France is open to tourists looking for enchantment, authenticity and outstanding restaurants.

Geography of the Best Motorcycle Routes in France

No need to travel across the world to experience adventure! Discover (or rediscover) this amazing country during your motorcycle tour in France. Surrounded by Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain, the country has natural frontiers like the Rhine, the Jura, the Alps and the Pyrénées. During a motorcycle trip in France, you will discover a wide variety of terrain and landscapes. France has five coastlines: the North Sea, the Channel, the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. In the Alps you will find Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest peak with an altitude of 4807m. You can explore the region with a motorcycle tour in the Alps along the Route des Grandes Alpes. From Lake Léman to the French Riviera, you will cross 16 passes riding on your motorcycle, including the highest pass at an altitude of 2764m, and traverse four major natural parks: Vanoise, Écrins, Queyras and Mercantour. There are major rivers flowing through the country including the Rhône, the Loire, the Rhine, the Garonne and the Seine. You may visit our world-renowned cities full of history and charm such as Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, Nantes, Bordeaux, Strasbourg, Nice or Lille. The landscape tour of France also offers a profusion of flavours and culinary delights from each region.

History and Culture on a Motorcycle Tour in France

From prehistory to Renaissance, the history of France has been rich and turbulent. This heritage is very much present in the territory and during your motorcycle trip in France, you will have the opportunity to visit the vestiges of this inexhaustible heritage. The French Revolution in 1789 marked the beginning of the contemporary era and various republics. Since the Declaration of the Rights of the Man and of the Citizen in 1789, France is often called "the land of human rights" and is also known for its Republican motto: "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity".  The 20th century was marked by two world wars. As a founding member of the European Union, after the Second World War, France enjoys peaceful relationships with its neighbouring countries. Thanks to the richness of its cultural heritage and the diversity of its natural heritage, France is the most visited country in the world. Among the very well-known sites, we boast Paris and the Eiffel Tower, the châteaux of the Loire valley, Mont Saint Michel, the Aiguille du midi or even the Wine route in Bourgogne or Bordeaux. The reputation of the French charm and its way of life is well established, offering an unparalleled backdrop for your motorbike tour in France.
