Our adventure starts on the enchanting island of Bali in the lush region Ubud, where we'll cross its rice terraces and soak up its mystical atmosphere. After a ferry ride, we arrive on authentic Lombok and take some superb roads into the heart of unspoilt nature, and the thrill of riding a Royal Enfield reaches its climax. Lastly, we'll admire little-known Sumbawa Island and its breathtaking panoramas, where visitors are still uncommon and welcoming locals' warm smiles beam from ear to ear.
Welcome to Bali! You're met at the airport and transferred to Ubud, the island's cultural and artistic centre. Take a stroll and soak up the town's mystical side with temples on every street, the arts and crafts market and the Royal Palace.
This morning, your tour leader introduces you to your new steed: the Royal Enfield. We take small roads through typical villages and stop at Mount Batur's south peak to admire the view. We head back down towards the small coastal village, Amed, famous for its crystal clear waters and black-sand beaches.
We’re going to sleep on the island of Lombok tonight! We take a wonderful road that leads us to Padangbai port where we hop on the ferry with the locals. After a six-hour ferry ride, we still have around 20 miles to go before we reach our accommodation for the night, on the beautiful Senggigi beach.
The day starts enjoying a breakfast with sea views. We follow the road along the coast, which has plenty of viewpoints overlooking stunning bays. We delve into the jungles at the foothills of Mount Rinjani on a superb winding road that takes us through a traditional village, where we sample some local food for lunch.
We skirt around Mount Rinjani through the picture-perfect Sembalun valley and reach the highest point of our tour at 1,600 m altitude. We take our time towards Lombok's small port where our ferry awaits. We alight on the island of Sumbawa and immediately realise that the locals' warm smiles were not just a one off!
Today, we leave the Royal Enfields to rest as we set off to explore the small paradise that Moyo Island has to offer, just a few miles from our accommodation. After a short trip on a private boat, the plan is to search out the island's waterfalls and snorkel in the crystal clear waters. We head back at the end of the day.
Those of you who love winding roads will be thrilled with this leg through the Sumbawa forest, where we are likely to be the only ones on the road. One hundred and twenty-five miles of pure pleasure on an excellent deserted road.
This morning, we continue our quest for classic riding experiences and take a fantastic coastal road that leads us to the port. Back on the ferry (2-hour ride), we leave Sumbawa behind us and head for Lombok once more. We reach the charming village Tetebatu, a lush haven nestled among rice paddies.
We leave the centre of the island this morning on roads that wind through the rice paddies and arrive at the south coast and its lagoons. We get back on the road through the countryside and villages, making several stops to admire local arts and crafts and meet locals.
Some of you may opt to enjoy Selong Belanak's fine-sand beach where you can simply relax, or try your hand at surfing. Those of you who just can't bear to spend a day without the Royal Enfields can take them out for a 30-mile spin and explore some more of Lombok under the sun.
As a farewell, Lombok offers us its most beautiful road on our last riding day. This perfectly smooth road seems like it was made for us! Wherever we look, we can admire the island's amazing landscapes from our Royal Enfields: to the left are endless sea views and a blanket of jungle to the right.
Depending on your flight schedule, you may be able to enjoy a few more hours in Ubud. You are transferred to the international airport in time for your flight. This is where our services end.
