Capitalizing on her experience in India and travels across the subcontinent, Jennifer proposes exclusive solidarity rides, with a positive and sustainable impact on the local community as well as on our riders!
Girls Ride will take you on a timeless journey to explore Rajasthan’s splendors: unspoilt villages, palaces and forts, secret paths as well as a human and humanitarian adventure, to meet women of Rajasthan and discover their customs, as part of a partnership with the NGO Sambhali Trust, based in Jodhpur, which is actively involved in women empowerment and child education since 2007.
A smooth arrival in Delhi for your first day: reception at the airport and transfer to a hotel in the city center. Your room is available from noon onwards. Two possibilities: take rest after your flight at your hotel, or discover the bustling capital of India.
We are transferred to the airport in the morning to take our flight for Udaipur. The incredible “Venice of the East”, constructed around Lake Pichola and surrounded by ridges, we take our time to visit it and get on the motorcycles for an outing before getting back to the hotel for the night.
We set off on the winding roads of the Aravali mountains to reach the arid plains of Marwar. The small roads are splendid going through several villages and small valleys with a variety of landscapes. Overnight stay in a fort hotel, founded in 1606, which has retained a lot of its charm.
After breakfast, we head north to reach the village of Setrawa located 100 km west of Jodhpur. We stop at Setrawa for two nights, in the Empowerment Centre run by the NGO Sambhali. Created in 2007, Sambhali helps to empower women and provide education for underprivileged children in western Rajasthan. A total immersion for us and a unique opportunity to share the daily life of these women, at least for a day.
For the village women, your presence is an event! You are free to participate in the activities you prefer: assist in the classes held for the village children, learn sewing and traditional embroidery, help in the kitchen and daily work. The village is surrounded by dunes, it is also an opportunity for you to try to ride your motorcycles on the sand! In the evening, traditional dance and music, mehendi and a meal prepared together.
After breakfast, we leave the village of Setrawa to head for Jodhpur where we use the afternoon to visit the market and the city. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Early in the morning, we get back on our motorcycles and ride through desert landscapes, and head towards Khimsar, on the edge of the Thar desert. We enjoy an afternoon and a night of rest and relaxation, in a heritage hotel built in the 16th century, ahead of the next day’s beautiful stage.
We leave the arid landscapes and resume our journey for the longest stage of our journey to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. We take the highway for the last 50 kilometers in order to enter the city. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Last day of motorcycles. In the morning, we visit the huge Amber fort, situated a few kilometers north of Jaipur before setting out again, over small and sometimes mountainous roads until Alwar Fort. Overnight stay in a heritage hotel.
From Alwar, transfer in private vehicles to our first hotel in Delhi, where we can enjoy the swimming pool and the spa to reinvigorate ourselves ahead of our return journey!
“Having joined two tours in India previously with Vintage Rides I have no hesitation in booking a third and recommending this company as experts in their field to anyone contemplating a guided tour on the sub continent or the far east. Vintage Rides is a French company and as expected many of the riders are French speakers but it is not a barrier. I speak English and have only a little of the French language but I have been welcomed by both the tour leaders and the other riders without any problems at all. Communication is not a problem in the brotherhood off the bikers. The tour leaders know their stuff and take you to places off the well beaten tourist track, always mindful of one's safety. The support team for mechanical issues that can occasionally arise with the robust Royal Enfield 500cc Bullet bikes and for transport of luggage and local knowledge remove any concerns, just sit back and enjoy the ride.”
“i did the nepal mustang trip in november with my son, a small amount of offroading skills is required. He had only passed his test 3months earlier and had gone a couple of off roading sessions and coped well. The weather was good that time of year, no rain and warm. the tour was better than i'd ever expected with a number of surprises along route. most accommodation was of good standard with some of very good 'the wife could spend a week here' standard. the bikes worked better than i'd expected, not ktm standard but you wouldnt want to be on a ktm allday, and half the appeal was the enfield. i would recommend this trip, so much so i am looking presently to book another trip with vintages rides.”
“I would recommend Vintage Rides to any rider contemplating a guided motorcycle tour. Right from my initial email with Denise, the professionalism and attention to detail was reassuring. Everything was organised for us and our tour guide Josh was fantastic from start to finish. The Royal Enfields were a lot of fun and suited the type of riding we did, the scenery was simply mind blowing and the tour was the best holiday and adventure ever. On top of all this, the value for money was excellent. I will be touring with Vintage Rides again. I did the Trans Himalayan in India.”
