An intrepid all-rounder, she has cruised India’s roads with many groups, and knows the country like the back of her leather-gloved hand.
If you’ve already journeyed hundreds of miles through the jewels of Rajasthan, the tea plantations of Kerala, and the unforgettable trails of Ladakh… then dare to take a motorbike trip in the heart of India: Madhya Pradesh. Some of the country’s most beautiful temples and palaces, national parks with abundant wildlife, authentic and spontaneous encounters, sublime little roads, and delightful hotels. You’ll only ride in the morning, to really soak up the places en route. Make haste for the land of Rudyard Kipling, and you’ll better understand why this immensely mysterious and beguiling region inspired the famous Jungle Book.
Arrive in Delhi, usually in the evening. You're met at the airport and transferred to the Amarya Villa hotel in central Delhi.
Early start by train. Arrive at the hotel at noon to settle in and have lunch. Royal Enfield induction session, then a bike ride around the centre of the peaceful village of Orchha.
The first stage of your motorcycle trip in Madhya Pradesh. Today’s stage will take us to Panna national park. You cross the forest of Orchha Nature Reserve, then reach Fort Bijawar for lunch. Then we will head to the Ken River Lodge, a hotel on the banks of the Ken River, to rest from our long first day.
In the morning, possible to go on a jeep safari in Panna National Park. Next, we head for the Archaeological Museum in Khajuraho, to admire its famous erotic sculptures. Back to the Ken River Lodge, where we spend the night.
Off to Maihar, zigzagging between forests and mildly hilly landscapes. We ride through typical small villages, where the local farmers go about their daily work. Arrive at the vast Mahiar Palace, where we stay the night.
After cruising along small rural roads, we take a trail for a few miles to reach our hotel in the forest. Free time and night at Kings Lodge, set between forested hills and a national park.
Today, the bikes stay in the garage. A very early start for a safari Bandhavgarh National Park. Another free afternoon. Night at Kings Lodge.
A packed day in the saddle. We ride through scenery akin to African savanna, and pass through villages, meeting the local people. Night at Kanha Earth Lodge, in luxury bungalows set in 16 acres of forest.
The bikes stay parked today. We rise at dawn for a final safari. If we're lucky, we'll spot tigers, bears, wolves, leopards, deer... Free afternoon.
Last day of motorcycle. The roads are new and the surface is impeccable. We cross forests and countryside before reaching our destination in the heart of the Pench National Park, for a memorable night. Genuine jewelry of Madhya Pradesh, this hotel located in the heart of the National Park of Pench has room perched in Mahua trees, typical of the region.
It would have been a shame not to enjoy this idyllic setting any longer. We enjoy today a well deserved day of relaxation by the pool. Possibility to organize a last safari (not included in the program) for the ones wishing to discover the 16 hectares of this magnificent property.
Transfer to Jabalpur airport, as per our flight time. Arrive in Delhi, and settle into the hotel. Free evening in Delhi.
The end of a great motorbike trip in Madhya Pradesh. We take you to the airport as per your flight-departure time.
“Was uncertain to begin with, as to what to expect from vintage rides or India. Found both to be fantastic, which was defiantly down to vintage rides and their guides. There assistantance was informative and I was left in awe of my experience, to such an extent that I have booked to do another trip with them”
“Great team offering a wide choice of rides. I selected northern Thailand, the golden triangle route. Well planned ride on good quality bike's, interesting and unique accommodation, well priced and well organised. No hesitation in recommending them and I am planning another trip for 2018 Neil UK”
“A wonderful and memorable experience. The 12 day tour that my wife (pillion) and I went on in Madhya Pradesh was very well planned, with interesting and sometimes challenging rides and sight-seeing during the day and comfortable, culturally fascinating places to stay in at night. Our tour leader was experienced, organised, had a fun personality and managed to respond to each member of the tour as an individual. We highly recommend Vintage Rides to anyone with a sense of adventure and competent motorcycle skills. Laurie and Jennie McAdam”
