Riding on a motorcycle in France, a land of contrasts, is equivalent to going on several journeys. Experience a human adventure full of encounters and surprises at every turn. Ride along the Route des Grandes Alpes, or the Cross-Pyrenean trail, paths in Provence and Var countryside, Auvergne’s terrain and curves. Enjoy your motorcycle trip in France in an atmosphere of fun and harmony with fine dining pleasures thanks to our recommendations along the route.

When should one travel in France?

The four seasons are well demarcated in France. The best season for a motorcycle trip in France is between April and October, when the temperatures are mild enough for one to ride a motorcycle on the roads in France. The climate may vary according to the regions and the altitude. But, in any case, it is better to avoid winter months between December and March. The temperatures are low almost all over the territory. However, there are a few beautiful sunny days in the south of France and Corsica. Summer is an excellent period fro travelling in France. To avoid the peak tourist season, we suggest that you travel in the months of June or September. Spring and autumn are our favourite seasons for travelling in France, visiting the blooming countryside and admiring the changing colours. During this period, discover Auvergne, its green and preserved landscapes, its pastureland and pristine untouched valleys make you think of Mongolia. Be careful, in autumn, the days are short and the temperatures fall rapidly at the end of the day, even in the south of France. Whatever be the season, France is open to tourists looking for enchantment, authenticity and good restaurants.

From prehistory to Renaissance, the history of France has been rich and turbulent. The French Revolution in 1789 marked the beginning of the contemporary era and various republics. Since the Declaration of hte Rights of the Man and of the Citizen in 1789, France is often called “the land of human rights” and is also known for its Republican motto: “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity”.
